Once Bitten

Truly a noble creature.

Gorram dog bit me. It's my own fault; I was going to beat the crap out of him. I guess he and I are square. Well, maybe. He's done a service by reminding me what rage costs. At least he isn't holding a grudge. Neither am I, but he owes me $52 for prescription antibiotics.

  4. Hey, if he owes you, even the cost of antibiotics, then it's still a grudge.

  8. This 55 is the tip of a huge story about regret and reconciliation. This event happened in 2006, I think, and my old friend lived four more years to the age of 14.

You're right, Jingle, that some dog bites are life threatening, but as Monkey Man says, they almost always are to the dog. I got many frightful looks when I insisted I was not putting Baron down after I came into work with my arm in a sling, and comments like how can I keep that animal in the same house as my children. Some people have no appreciation for what it's like to bond with a dog, what it's like to turn a pet into a trusted friend.

    RIP, Baron.

  11. I wish more people were like dogs. Straightforward, no games. Angry? Bite someone, you'll feel better.

    I loved it!

  12. Oh, um... no flaming me. I've always been a dog lover, and I'm reformed. Besides, if you think you can label me after one or a few blog posts, you really ought to read the whole thing. Or not come back. Have a nice day :)
