Poem

Coward, 12 May 2009

When the days of you and I have passed
What remains will ever last
Upon my heart in dark and darker places.

Those who pass will know not love
And tender souls that might above
will fall--

And I will be repeated,
And I will be repeated,
And I will be repeated?

And all will have been for naught.

This must be the thirteenth step:
Close your eyes, this is only going to hurt
The rest of your life.

And Tinturn Abbey may as well be
The fucking Elysium Fields to me.
I am no warrior--just a simple coward.

And these are perfect places
I will never be
I will never see.

Just a simple coward
Is all I'll ever be.
